Cable (UTP - Category 5)The Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable will be installed. All cables consist of 4 pairs, 24A WG solid conductors. To future proof of their investment in the cabling system, each cable meets or exceeds ISO EN 11801 Class D, EIA/TIA requirements. The cabling system will be installed in accordance with these standards, making sure that the cabling system will be capable of sustaining heavy and high-speed network traffic over its expected lifetime. Data Sockets (RJ45 Category 5)Each UTP data socket will consist of an eight-way RJ45 data outlet module fitted with a face plate, fitted on to a surface mounted back box. The data cable will be labelled with a unique number corresponding to the number at the hub/patch panel end to allow correct identification of this socket outlet. Connection from the data sockets to the computer/printer is accomplished by using fly lead cables; these can be various lengths but are usually two or three metres. TrunkingWhenever necessary white PVC trunking can be installed to house and protect all data cables. This trunking will be screwed to the walls at regular intervals, and will have a removable lid. Fly Lead (UTP) Category 5These leads will have RJ45 plugs on both ends. The cable used for the fly leads will be high performance, four twisted pair flexible Category 5 UTP cabling (unshielded). Each fly lead will be tested on completion and serial numbered for ease of identification and tracability.
